The Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem (WEFE) Nexus is a holistic framework that highlights the interconnections between natural resources. It ensures that strategies for sustainable development consider cross-sectoral impacts, promoting resilience and long-term security.
Who can join the platform and how do I register as an expert?
The platform is open to researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and professionals across Europe and beyond. Interested experts can register by creating a profile in their respective field of expertise (water, energy, food, or ecosystem services).

Our platform provides access to innovative tools such as food waste prevention calculators, solar PV potential calculators, and case studies. These tools support evidence-based decision-making and policy development.
How are experts categorized within the community?
Experts are grouped according to their main field of expertise: water, energy, food, and ecosystem services. However, cross-cutting experts from health, circular economy, and civil engineering are also integrated under ecosystem services to reflect the Nexus’s expanded dimensions.
Can organizations as well as individuals participate in the platform?
Yes. Both individual experts and organizations are encouraged to join, fostering multi-level collaboration and collective action.
